Beauty Tricks From Swim Week
Here are six secrets from backstage of Mara Hoffman Swim Resort 2013 brought to you by Hawaiian Tropic Sun Care.
As the official sun care sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim and sponsor of the Mara Hoffman Swim Resort 2013 show, Hawaiian Tropic Sun Care styled the skin of the runway models with new Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration lotion sunscreen.
We bring you, loyal readers, six secrets from backstage so you can rock silky smooth skin like a Swim Week model, too:
#TIP 1: Protect your skin by applying a luxurious amount of sunscreen stylists used Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration lotion sunscreen to prep models' skin. With hydrating ribbons infused with luxurious silk proteins and rich shea butter, Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration lotion sunscreen pampers and protects skin when in the sun, providing 12-hour moisturization while still providing safe and effective broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.
#TIP 2: Your face requires about a teaspoon of sunscreen for the best coverage, while your arms and legs require about a tablespoon. Adjust accordingly for the torso. For maximum protection, wait for it to soak in (15 to 30 minutes) before indulging in the sun.
#TIP 3: Reapply sunscreen often, at least every two hours. Sweating, swimming, and towel drying can remove sunscreen from your skin¹s surface, so be sure to reapply when needed.
#TIP 4: Drink up. Your body needs more water when you¹re outside in the glorious summer sun. Drinking water is also good for keeping your skin clear, supple and beautiful.
#TIP 5: Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! The more you moisten your sun-drenched skin, the more long-lasting your tan and the more luminous your golden glow.
#TIP 6: Exfoliate to prep your skin: Before applying sunless tanning products, exfoliate all areas you are planning to cover. This will ensure your glow is as smooth and even as possible. Tanning occurs at the lower levels of your skin, where the skin's pigment cells are located. Exfoliating "polishes" your skin and gives it a healthy glow. You¹ll improve the look of your tan by removing flaky surface skin cells that give your skin a dull appearance.
