Beat out the competition at Masturbate-a-thon
This year marks the tenth time the Masturbate-a-thon will take place, and just like that 5k you ran last month, it's all for a good cause.
At the Exxxotica Expo in Miami Beach this past weekend, you may have had the pleasure of meeting the male world record holder for Longest Time Spent Masturbating, Mr. Masanobu Sato. He's taken the title two consecutive years in a row at The Masturbate-a-thon, an annual masturbation longevity competition in San Francisco.
In 2008, Sato pleasured himself for 9 hours and 33 minutes. In 2009, he "beat" his own record, extending it to 9 hours and 58 minutes. Like any top notch pro athlete, Sato has sponsorships. He reps Tenga, a Japanese company that makes crazy futuristic masturbatory tools (seriously, is a robot maid is going to roll up and apply that thing?). Tenga had a booth at Exxxotica, manned by Sato, who happily explained the pleasing effect of each product on his penis.
"Nine hours, 58 minutes! Google me!" he insisted to a small group perusing Tenga's selection of silicone wanking eggs. Thinking you can surpass ten hours and unseat him? The 2010 competition is close--just ten days away--but you can always start practicing for next year. And ladies, there is also a set women's record to beat: 7 hours, 6 minutes.
One necessary aspect of your training: steeling your nerves to the thought of spectators. The Masturbate-a-thon offers $25 "voyeur seating" which allows strangers to ogle the participants. Other options: masturbating in front of a live-feed webcam, or getting off in a private, non-spectator room with other bashful wankers and wankettes.
This year marks the tenth time the Masturbate-a-thon will take place, and just like that 5k you ran last month, it's all for a good cause. Though the overall goal of the event it to make masturbation a more accepted, non-shameful practice, the competition is also a fundraiser. Participants solicit their friends for pledges, paid either by the minute or per orgasm. The money benefits San Francisco's Center for Sex & Culture, a non-profit that provides sexual education and resources to audiences of all sexualities and genders.
The Masturbate-a-thon live feed runs on their site from 7 p.m. to midnight E.T. on Sunday, May 30, 2010.
