What to wear for Art Basel Miami Beach 2011 is as much the question on every fashionistas’ mind as is which are the hottest soirees and art shows to see.

MARNI boutique in Miami’s Design District (3930 NE 2nd Ave., Suite 100 B) has become the go-to-spot for jet-setters whizzing into town and the locals who have the loot to look like A-listers on a red carpet.

“We have a lot of established women and socialites who are coming in as soon as they get off the plane,” said retail director Jorge Salazar. “The MARNI woman is a worldwide shopper who wants to wear a work of art and this is the perfect week to do that.”

Clothing, accessories and shoes at the store average between $1,100 and $2,000. For Art Basel the boutique is showcasing their Resort 2012 collection which consists of mid length tulip shaped skirts, fringe pantsuits, geometric A-line skirts and 70s flared pants.

“Everything from the bold prints to the construction of clothing makes our clothing wearable art,” said Salazar. Designer Consuelo Castiglioni’s summer edition line is also up for grabs.

“A lot of women are coming in for head-to-toe looks and others are just getting great pieces like fur, necklaces and purses,” said Salazar.

In the past MARNI has collaborated with several artists such as Richard Prince, Gary Hume and Claude Caillol. This year the boutique is working with artist Tellas. During Art Basel Miami Beach and until Dec. 6 the public can check out his video fashion installation called “On Marni” in the store.
