Think you're a wine-o? Then make sure to hit these tasting events in April.

The bad news? April is apparently the new August.
The good? It’s also an excellent time to drink like a fish in Miami.
Wine tastings, events and dinners abound, here are some of our favorites.
Dress up girls’ night out at Azul’s Wine and Women seminars in April and May.
Led by sommelier Cynthia Betancourt, classes feature bites from the Azul kitchen, goodie bags and topics like comparing high and low end wines and exploring ports.

Get inspired at Morton’s Green Hour celebrating Absinthe on April 21.
Explore the “slow pour of the fairy fountain” and enjoy at least four variations of Pernod Absinthe with light snacks (oysters Rockefeller, sliced tenderloin, etc).

Channel your inner Californian Tuesday, April 21 at Christy’s Long Meadow Ranch winemaker’s dinner.

Smith & Wollensky goes international at its April 22nd Moet Hennessy French winemaker dinner.
Enjoy four Moet Hennessy wines and five courses. Highlights include Yellow Label Brut Champagne and a 2007 Sancerre.

Sip and support Thursday, April 23 at WomenHeart and Wines of Portugal’s third annual Wine Tasting Miami. Thirty wineries and 250 wines representing each of Portugal’s main wine regions will be on tap at the Ritz Carlton South Beach and 100 percent of proceeds benefit WomenHeart, supporting research, education and promotion of women’s heart health.

Pop the cork on the 14th Annual Miami Wine & Food Festival.
Thursday April 23 through Saturday April 25 in Coral Gables.
Taste Thursday night at Merrick Park then dine Friday and/or Saturday nights at the JW Marriott. Michael Schwartz of Michael’s Genuine is this year’s featured chef.
Fancy yourself a professional and saddle up to the judging table at Smith & Wollensky during the 5th Annual Florida International Wine Challenge April 25 and 26.
Do some good (proceeds benefit Big Brother Big Sisters of Greater Miami), enjoy unlimited wine samplings and test your palette by choosing the FIWC Tasting Board’s top five wines. Guess correctly and qualify for various prizes.
