About
This snug little bar in the Design District has a 1920s speakeasy feel, with rococo-style gilded mirrors, carved wood high chairs, red velvet couches, wine-colored walls and framed prints of old newspaper clips announcing the end of the Prohibition years. Named after the law that made booze legal again, the candlelit bar serves lovely libations like a chocolate expresso martini. It’s a place to chill and carry a conversation while enjoying gourmet fare and listening to Prince remixes. Don’t expect a crowded dance floor and neon lights. Open till 3 a.m., they serve such hip snacks as lettuce wraps and saffron chicken skewers till midnight (around $8 and up) and often feature live music and DJ's spinning till the wee morning hours.
