This band’s radio-ready sound comes from an obsession with classical skills
Fresh faced local pop band Amely are in the music game for the long haul. Getting their start in March of last year, all four members chose a moniker that can literally mean anything to anyone, and hopefully inspire all. Their ultimate goal as a group is to create pop-rock music that can be enjoyed by as large of an audience as possible.
Twitter fiends Petie Pizarro (vocals/guitar), Brandon Walden (guitar), Patrick Ridgen (bass), and Nate Parsell (drums) are just a tweet away for loyal fans. They also set up regular chats on Ustream, making it obvious that staying connected with fans is a huge priority. Amely has gigged all over Miami, including a recent performance at the Miami Warped Tour this past July. They get a kick out of playing here, as family and friends regularly come out to support. But don’t be fooled, the band loves to tour and will continue on their third national tour throughout the rest of year.
Their sophistication of their radio-ready sound comes from an obsession with orchestration, classical vocal training and other alternative influences. The more mature nuances of their music allow it to be appreciated by audiences other than tweens. “We have so many different musical influences . . . which range from Bon Jovi and Aerosmith to more current artists such as The All American Rejects and Jimmy Eat World,” explains Pizarro.
Recently signed to Fearless Records, the group recently released its debut EP entitled “Hello World” on Sept. 14, 2010. “The general theme behind our new EP is hope and will power. I believe that if you put your mind to something and truly believe in your dreams that they can become a reality, so I hope that audiences hear a sign of inspiration and want to go out and create,” Pizarro said.
